What makes EIS Analytics think they can find profits we can’t?
Our experiences in helping manufacturing companies improve sales and profits have provided us with knowledge, insight and inspiration. The flagship product we’ve developed — Profit InSight — uses the industry's most powerful optimization technology and data from throughout your supply chain to identify profit opportunities. Our real-time reports provide solid answers to your mission-critical questions.

The bottom line: Profitability in manufacturing is a function of product mix, and existing support systems are not designed to identify profit enhancement opportunities. Profit InSight is designed to do exactly that.

I have invested in an ERP system that was supposed to tell me how to improve profitability . . .
Prior to forming EIS and developing EIS Analytics, we reviewed the major management programs used in industry, analyzed the impact of ERP, CRM, and supply chain systems on profitability, and benchmarked successful companies operating in the commodity manufacturing sector.

Most companies utilize traditional accounting systems that are excellent at managing accounting transactions, but were never designed to identify profit opportunities.

The leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems providers suggest that their products fulfill this function. Upon investigating ERP systems on behalf of our clients, however, we discovered that they either did not accurately apply to, or adequately integrate into, the commodity manufacturing industry. Also, surprisingly, most ERP providers treat planning tools as a "bolt on" to their ERP systems.

Some executives have initiated Activity-Based Costing analysis and gained valuable one-time lessons on the operations of their business. However, activity-based costing programs and standard cost models are incapable of the accuracy, speed, or ease-of-use required for timely action. The approach is also costly and nearly impossible to sustain; and the lessons learned often become quickly obsolete.

Manufacturing executives are generally forced to make do with available technology or develop home-grown spreadsheet systems that lack the sophistication to adequately optimize sales mix, evaluate capital investments, or answer other queries that remain significant to achieving maximum profitability. And in practice, planning tools’ recommendations are often subordinated to immediate needs in high-visibility areas that appear to directly create or affect revenue.

Profit InSight bridges the process, technology and analysis gaps in an innovative, comprehensive, systematic way. It provides a powerful, robust planning system optimized to find hidden profits in manufacturing systems.

Nothing in the market today provides the accuracy of Profit InSight or matches the speed at which you can identify internal and external areas where you can improve profitability.

Why do we need the model after we find the best mix?
Because the best mix will change as market conditions evolve, which they do continuously.

Every variable — cost, efficiency, demand, etc. — has a certain volatility that requires periodic updates to keep results current.

Your customized Profit InSight model minimizes ongoing data requirements by carefully grouping business elements, and provides the fastest, most comprehensive method of solving thousands of equations for optimization.

EIS analysts ensure that Profit InSight provides accurate, validated data on demand.

How will we make the changes we need in our existing programs?
EIS has developed formal protocols to achieve success. Once you engage with Profit InSight, EIS implementers execute a change-management initiative to ensure that your staff is properly trained and that Profit InSight aligns well with your ongoing business processes. In collaboration with the senior management team, EIS recommends adjustments to processes, metrics, programs, and incentives to ensure that all contributors are aligned with the corporate objective of contributing to maximum profitability.

We recognize that company acceptance is the key to realizing the benefits of Profit InSight. To this end, we build on your existing sales program to include the additional capabilities provided by Profit InSight. We integrate necessary Profit InSight information and recommendations into your existing reporting formats, to assure contextual understanding. We also provide support as necessary, to ensure that our clients’ key personnel are not overwhelmed by the commitment of actively leading and managing the change.

This expanded resource set enables sales managers to direct sales staff to achieve greater profits, not just greater volume. Sales managers can readily understand profit contributors at the SKU, product, product-line and customer levels, and direct activities to realize the optimum profit.

We have also found that personnel responsible for analysis and data management have often developed their own unique methods and practices that have worked in the past. We build on the strength of those practices and leverage the data management capabilities within Profit InSight to remove remaining obstacles.
